Upflow fixed bed multiple inputs anaerobic filter

Input data

Colder month average temperature

Compensation rate for the occupied volume by the support media - see note 1

Contribution type - see Table 1

Number of contributors - see Table 1 for contributor tipification

Anaerobic filter effective height

Filter plan shape

Output data

Effluents contribution flow

Effluents detention time

Useful volume

Filter superficial area

Filter diameter

Minimum inlet pipes number

Description

This calculation is indicated for filters with superficial area greater than 3 m²

Given the temperature, the contribution type, the number of contributors, the geometry and effective height of the anaerobic filter, calculates its useful volume and superficial area.

Notes:

  • ¹ Effluent contribution (sewage)
  • ² Fresh sludge contribution
  • Applied to local treatment systems with maximum daily flow up to 12000 liters per day and total organic load up to 3.80 kg BOD / day, for installations in which there are differential conditions of execution, operation and maintenance, when compared to medium and great size sewage treatment systems, usually implanted in projects which are not served by sanitary sewage systems, in distant locations.
