Description

Calculate the thickener area or the thickened slurry concentration using the Kynch method, based on solid data and cylinder test curve.

 

There are 2 calculation possibilities:

  • Given concentration: Calculate the thickener area
  • Given area: Calculate the thickened slurry concentration

 

The Kynch method is widely used in industrial thickener design, based on batch sedimentation theory. From experimental cylinder test data, the method allows determining the necessary design parameters for proper equipment sizing.
