Description

The IMS-200 media retainer is designed as a replacement for the filter bed support layer and is fixed to the bottom blocks of Leopold filters in water treatment plants. Made of high-strength injection molded plastic, it is designed as an improvement over gravel and porous plate supports.

Mechanical properties of the material and construction

The IMS-200 is produced in precision molded high-strength thermoplastic and has the following characteristics:

  • Minimum nominal length – 1178mm
  • Maximum nominal width – 279mm
  • Maximum nominal height – 35mm
  • Slot opening – minimum of 42.26 square centimeters
  • Total weight – 2.5 kg
  • Unit weight – 0.85g/cm²
  • Density – 1.22g/cm3
  • Modulus of elasticity – 320,000 psi (2206 Mpa)
  • Yield strength (tensile) – 9100 psi (63 Mpa)
  • Elongation – 90%

Must be attached to the block with synthetic rubber sealant and fixed with stainless steel self-tapping screws. Supports 400 micron or larger media. Pressure drop of 140mm c.a. at 50m/h. NSF61/ANSI certified and resistant to chemical decomposition with water treatment chemicals, including ozone dosing up to 2.0 mg/L and chlorine residuals up to 3.5 mg/L.
