Maximum transient head at the valve

Minimum transient head at the valve

Maximum transient head at midway

Minimum transient head at midway

Description

Given the basic characteristics of a pressurized gravity conduction line (extension, celerity), permanent regime (water velocity) and valve (closure time, assumed linear), estimates the extreme transient heads that will occur at the valve and at midway.

This method is applied to closing valve time equal or superior to 10La10\cdot \frac{L}{a}, with LL been the extension and aa is the celerity.
