Estimated inertia

Input data

Motor power

Motor velocity

Output data

Inertia (WR²)

Description

Given the power and the velocity of the electric motor, estimates the inertia (WR²) of its rotating components.

Units

The estimate is WR² = 75 (P/n)^1.435, with P in CV and n in rpm, which gives kgf·m². Since version 1.0.2 the result is returned as WR² in N·m² (multiplied by g = 9.81), and power is converted to CV (735.5 W). Earlier versions returned the kgf·m² value under the N·m² label, 9.81 times too small. To enter a moment of inertia I instead, use kg·m² on the pump's WR² pin: WR² = I·g.
