Description

Given the basic characteristics of a rectangular channel in uniform flow, this calculation determines the normal flow depth, flow rate, roughness coefficient nn, or slope.

Calculation modes:

  • Depth (y): Given the flow rate (QQ), width (bb), slope (II), and roughness coefficient (nn), calculates the normal flow depth and velocity.
  • Flow (Q): Given the depth (yy), width (bb), slope (II), and roughness coefficient (nn), calculates the flow rate and the U2/2gU²/2g relation.
  • Width (b): Given the depth (yy), flow rate (QQ), slope (II), and roughness coefficient (nn), calculates the width and the U2/2gU²/2g relation.
  • Roughness coefficient (n): Given the depth (yy), flow rate (QQ), slope (II), and width (bb), calculates the roughness coefficient and the U2/2gU²/2g relation.
  • Slope (I): Given the depth (yy), flow rate (QQ), width (bb), and roughness coefficient (nn), calculates the slope and the U2/2gU²/2g relation.
