Description

Given the basic characteristics of a rectangular channel in uniform flow, this calculation determines the normal flow depth, flow rate, roughness coefficient $n$, or slope.

Calculation modes:

  • Depth (y): Given the flow rate ($Q$), width ($b$), slope ($I$), and roughness coefficient ($n$), calculates the normal flow depth and velocity.
  • Flow (Q): Given the depth ($y$), width ($b$), slope ($I$), and roughness coefficient ($n$), calculates the flow rate and the $U²/2g$ relation.
  • Width (b): Given the depth ($y$), flow rate ($Q$), slope ($I$), and roughness coefficient ($n$), calculates the width and the $U²/2g$ relation.
  • Roughness coefficient (n): Given the depth ($y$), flow rate ($Q$), slope ($I$), and width ($b$), calculates the roughness coefficient and the $U²/2g$ relation.
  • Slope (I): Given the depth ($y$), flow rate ($Q$), width ($b$), and roughness coefficient ($n$), calculates the slope and the $U²/2g$ relation.
